Weathervanes are made from Copper (unless noted) with an original polished finish. You can protect that finish from the weather elements by spraying on StayBrite (above). Antiqued finishes are obtained from using a patina solution on the original polished Copper finish, it oxidizes the finish and will continue to oxidize over the years it's exposed to the weather.

New Proprietary Blue Verde and Chestnut Patina finishes are applied by hand (available on the most popular weathervanes). These patinas create a richly detailed color and luster, pure copper and brass are transformed into multi-toned blue-green or lightly hued chestnut brown patinas that will not rub off in your hands. These weathervanes (like the polished and antiqued) are made of copper and brass and come with stainless steel and brass components to ensure years of maintenance free enjoyment.
